Rivers and Roads

Sometimes, dark clothing is the best thing ever. Okay I lied, dark clothes are always the best things ever. It's usually quite difficult for me to avoid going goth/transforming into Wednesday Adams, even in this lovely weather. So I do my best to do so by wearing grey instead of black and keeping it light.
Here, I wore my wicked NYC graphic tee (men's apparel anybody?) with a buckled skater skirt. Since it's starting to warm up as well, I ditched my Docs for a cool pair of studded flats.

DIY Floral Crowns

I've been crushing on floral crowns for a little over a year now. After seeing tons of hipsters on Tumblr rock these, along with festival lovers and stars like Lana Del Rey, I knew I had to get my hands on my own. Since spending over $20 on one from a popular store seemed impossible with my broke-high-school-student budget, my friend Anna and I decided to create our own! Here is what you'll need to make lovely floral crowns like the ones shown above:

     1. A headband- you can purchase one from almost any store now-a-days, but make sure yours is sturdy enough. Also, fabric ones work best.

     2. Faux flowers- any craft store carries these, and you can pick any colour scheme you like- we decided to go with pale pinks!

     3. Something to secure the flowers with- preferably a hot glue gun.

First off, you want to yank the flowers off their stems. They should pop off, but you may need scissors to snip down the nubs left under the flower.
After you have all the flowers you will need, begin gluing them to the headband. If possible, make a base layer of the flatter ones before adding large flowers.
Continue gluing until your headband is covered entirely with flowers! Remember, you can't do much wrong while making these, so they are great for beginners.

Check out some pictures from my day with Anna!

Enjoy your new floral crown! Post pics of how yours turned out on Instagram and tag me (@justadorbsblog) so I can re-post :3

Dashboard

I find it difficult to purchase dresses that aren't black. That's why I was so proud of myself for picking out this adorable coral dress! When worn with a fun scarf and cute flats, it's light and cheery. But even with Docs and a leather jacket, it's still great.

Yoko

Sometimes, frilly skirts and combat boots just work. I'd say it's safe to say this was one of those times.
This teal skater was quite the find -$5 at Charlotte Russe!- and is worth wearing with everything. With a plain black tee, there is opportunity to dress it up or down. I decided to do a little bit of both by wearing my Docs and Forever 21 statement necklace with it!

Awkward

Layering is my best friend in this type of weather. You know, when it's sunny and borderline sunny outside but still super windy/chilly. It's officially spring but not really. That's when looks like this one come in handy.
The key to layering in the spring is making sure you still include pastels or any light colour. With a mint button down, patterned scarf and blush tote, my otherwise black ensemble doesn't look too wintry.
