OOTD: Halloween Style

BOO!

Happy Halloween! Today is the one day where you can be whoever you want, no matter what other people think.
My school prohibits costumes, but all my friends ignored it and dressed up. Last minute, I decided to go out trick-or-treating with some friends... and it poured. I was dressed as a zombie slayer- I'll have pictures up on our Facebook page this weekend, I pinky swear!
What did you guys dress as today?

Last Minute Halloween Costumes

So unfortunately  I did not have the time, money, or energy to fabricate costumes this year. I only attended one party, and had a pretty lame cat costume. BUT, I did take the liberty to put together a list of great last minute Halloween costumes! Here it is.

     1. Wonder Woman. Wear cobalt blue shorts or a skater skirt, a red fitted top, and just add tons of gold accessories.

     2. A unicorn. Just combine a neon dress with neon tights, heels, and jewelry. For the actual unicorn part, there are masks on Amazon for less than $20! My best friend Hayley Mac owns one and is a unicorn to every party.

     3. The Tooth Fairy. A giant tutu, sparkly top, and cute heels look pretty magical next to a wand (When I did this, I cut out a tooth-shaped piece of paper and taped it onto a stick) and dollar store wings. It's quite funny when you think about it long enough.

     4. Minnie Mouse. Wear a funky polka dot dress, red shoes, and make a mouse-ear headband out of felt and an old hairband. Fire engine red lips look so adorable with this costume.

    5. Punk Disney Princess. Have bright red hair? Wear a green, sparkly mini skirt with a purple, off-the-shoulder tee, and Doc Martens. Add a ton of stick-on tattoos and you are now a punk version of Ariel. Do this with any princess you resemble.

    6. A band robber. An assemblage of black skinny jeans, a striped tee, combat boots, and a beanie could make you anything- unless you add a bag with a $ sign on it.

    7. Where's Waldo. Okay, I have honestly always wanted to do this. Wear a blue and white striped tee with red skinny jeans, brown boots, and a funny hat and thick-rim glasses.

    8. An angel. Put a spin on this classic costume with an all-white outfit including jeans, a leather jacket, heels, and wings. Angelic makeup and pretty hair will add a pretty finishing touch.

Hope I helped someone come up with their costume! Happy Halloween... :)

We'll Be Counting Stars

Sometimes, seeing the world in black and white isn't such a bad thing- especially when it creates a very cute outfit.
Here, I paired a black skater A-line skirt with a girly daisy print, with a prim sweater-tee to create an unexpected look. Black tights and black heeled booties help to accentuate your legs and tone down the daring mix on top.

The Weekender: Driving & DQ

Last weekend, my family and I took a drive up to Hawk's Nest, New York. This is a windy road etched into the side of a cliff that overlooks the beautiful Delaware River. It's a perfect spot to take pictures, especially during the fall because the foliage is breathtaking.

Later, we drove up to High Point... but it turned out to be so cold, we only stayed for a few minutes!

     Also, we went to DQ.

My Obsession With Magazines

It all started with picking up three dollar Bop and Tiger Beat issues at age 11. My obsession sprouted from the very first time I lay eyes on the magazine rack at my local Weis. At the time, it seemed like the coolest thing in the world. I was also an avid reader of American Girl and other magazines any tween girl would be intrigued by.

Next, I moved on to scouring through People and Us at the hair saloon before appointments. Believe it or not, I was interested in the lives of the Kardashians' personal lives when I was 12.

Once my interests began to include fashion, I began purchasing magazines such as Teen Vogue and Glamour. Piles and piles of the newest issues of every style magazine there was began to form in my bedroom, until I decided the $5 issues were adding up and taking a serious toll on my wallet.

Recently, I decided to make a subscription to Seventeen. A two year one, to be exact. Since I received one for Teen Vogue already, I decided to build on my collection. Subscribing to Nylon is my next conquest- and then the world! Mwahaha...

What magazines are you obsessed with? Let me know in the comments!

Scribble Down Something That's Sweet

Over the weekend, I went adventuring around some cool local places. I will post about where I went and what I did in a few days, but for now- here is what I wore!
High-waisted skinnies are my go-to pieces for any casual outfit. Adding a denim top to the denim bottoms just doubles the edgy factor! A bright envelope clutch and some arm candy add some colour and are just the icing on the cake.

     Skinnies: Kohl's
     Boots: Bass

To go off on a completely unrelated tangent, I'm ĂĽber excited for my trip to New York later this month. I'm attending Once the Musical with my band/choir for school. We have a time period where we can wander about Times Square- my friends and I have made reservations for a wicked Italian place at lunchtime, and I cannot wait to hit up the three-story Forever 21 store. I haven't been to the city in five whole years, and I miss it so much- almost, in a way, homesick (even though I have never lived there). So, I'm basically exploding with excitement.

The Weekender: Puppies & Peace Tea

Last Saturday, I spent the day with Jeannette and Mae. We met at our local Rite Aid to hang out. This ugly old pharmacy is the hotspot for teenagers in our small town, so we carried out the tradition. By this, I mean that we picked up some Peace Teas (the best iced tea EVER) and Pringles, then walking back to Jeannette's place to chill out on her trampoline.

It was a pretty tame day, but a good one for sure.

What do you want to see?

Hey guys! I haven't just "talked" to you in a while. I wanted to know what you all wanted to see on the blog. What is most important is what YOU all want to see.

The week before Halloween I will definitely have some costume idea posts up, I am in the process of planning the outfits as we speak!

Anything specific you all want me to post about? Comment below!

Frock Swap

There is a good chance you just read the title and thought, "What's a Frock Swap???" Well, my friends, here I will explain 'How to Frock Swap.'

A Frock Swap is basically when your girlfriends all gather large amounts of clothes, shoes, and accesories together into a huge bag and meet at one person's house. Upon arrival, you may not show anyone what is in your bag. Then, at the same time, everyone dumps their bags out onto the floor. After, enjoy picking through and collecting items to bring home and add to your own closets.

I am usually the hostess of these Frock Swaps. I introduced the idea to my girlfriends after discovering it from my favourite blogger Bebe Zeva of Fated To Be Hated (ftbh.blogspot.com).

Here, I received many items INCLUDING:

THIS bright green sweater

THIS lace polka-dot top

THIS sequined mini skirt

I Don't Care if I'm a Misfit

Guys, I finally figured out how to attach images again! There are some great posts coming up, don't fret kitties. Here's an outfit I put together last weekend!

I've been in search of the perfect maxi skirt for a very, very long time. I finally found one in black for $10 last week! Having (and rocking) the petite height of only five foot, finding long dresses/skirts requires hours of scouring through clothes racks at the mall. But I stumbled upon this beauty at a local shop and freaked- it was perfect!

Fashion Tag

Hey guys! I am SO sorry for the lack of posts. My schedule is pretty tight, and I have been having technical difficulties trying to upload images onto posts. The moment I fix this, you can expect loads of posts! Until then, here is a fashion tag I made up from a combination of various ones. If you want to participate in the tag, copy and paste but insert your own answers. Enjoy!

Favourite Style: My style is pretty quirky and out there, so anything that is really odd, unusual, or just strange appeals to me.
Fashion Role Model: Many, include Leandra Medine, Bebe Zeva, Alexa Chung, and Tavi Gevinson.
What do you always have on?: My claddagh ring and Pandora bracelet.
Favourite Jeans: Black skinny pair by New York and Company-thrifted for $10!
Favourite Sunglasses: I’m still mourning the loss of my metallic blue Lennon pair, which were crushed in my bag when I went camping a few months ago. But now I’ve been wearing black cat eye ones, thrifted for $5.
Favourite Shoes: When it’s not unbearingly hot out, I’m in my black leather combat boots. In the summer, I wear my new white Converse with a red and blue striped platform and skull-denim-rose pattern on the inside.
What got you interested in fashion?: I’ve always loved expressing myself through what I wear- only recently did I decide that I would love to pursue a career in Fashion Styling, for magazines and runway shows.
Favourite Store: It’s a toss up between Dolls Kill, Urban Outfitters, H&M, Forever 21, and Brandy Melville.
Favourite Youtube Guru: Jenn from clothesencounters and Chriselle Lim.
Favourite Blog: Fated To be Hated, Atlantic Pacific, Fashion Toast, Man Repeller, Sincerely Jules, Caroline’s Mode, and Style Bubble are easily some of my favorites.
     Favourite Model: Chloe Nørgaard.
If you were to spend up to $5000 on one item, what would it be?: I’d rather go on a huge haul than buy one item.
Heels or flats?: Why not both?
Current Purse: Sadly, my black leather bag has broke so I have been using a bright orange envelope clutch.
