My Valentino Dupes

Being a broke high school freshman, I really don't have the money to purchase amazing designer pieces. That's why I love it when I come across identical pairs for less!

These shoes were designed to look exactly like Valentino 'Rockstud' ballet flats that come in a large assortment of colours. I was strolling through Forever 21 when I came across these, being familiar with the real thing, I just had to have them.

The Valentino pair costs nearly $600. These babies? Less than $10.

     Best. Deal. EVER.

The Weekender: Garage Sale-ing and the Gingerbread Castle

This weekend I went on a pretty satisfying adventure with my friends Hayley, Jeannette, and Mae. First, Hayley and I wandered around our town and hit up some garage sales. Our town has one weekend a year full of them, and this one was it. Here is a compilation of the most interesting finds.

Later, we met Jeannette and Mae to visit a place called the Gingerbread Castle. It was once featured in Weird NJ, being a creepy old building once used as a wonderland for children. Next to it is a disturbing factory that was abandoned years ago- it used to be the Wheatsworth Mill.
*PLEASE NOTE* We did not trespass at any point in this journey. We stood across the street and on the bridge to take these. Yeah, we played it safe. Don't judge.

All in all, it was a weird weekend. I am hoping to do more posts on what I do on weekends. Comment thoughts!

Forever 21 Wishlist

I shop online at Forever 21 as much as I breathe. Here is a list of items I desperately want from the site, and what I would wear them with!

     1. F6666 Mirrored Heart Round Sunglasses. I'd wear them with: a fringe crop top, acid-wash jeans, and Doc Martens.

     2. Relaxed Rebel Tee. I'd wear it with: neon skinnies, point-toe pumps, and a metallic clutch.

     3. Favorite Boyfriend Cardigan (in olive). I'd wear it with: a fitted white tank, light-wash/distressed boyfriend jeans, and oxford flats.

     4. Floral Bomber Jacket. I'd wear it with: leather pants, loose grey tank, and neon booties.

     5. Bold Happy Face Leggings. I'd wear them with: distressed black sweater (Lennon style preferably), and sneaker wedges.

     6. Paisley Babe Wide-Leg Pants. I'd wear them with: fitted crop top (white), piles of jewelry, and heels of any type (the pants would most likely cover them).

     7. Romantic Crochet Tulle Dress. I'd wear it with: pale pink, point toe heels and some silver bracelets. (I'd honestly kill to wear this to homecoming at my school next weekend, but it does not come in my size!)

     8. Girly Chambray Skater Skirt (light wash, if available): I'd wear it with: black tee tucked in (fitted) with white converse.

     9. Cat Craze Meow Snapback: I'd wear it with: graphic, cropped pullover, floral skinnies, and sneaker wedges.

     10. Beaded Cat Ear Headband (being a proud owner of a pearl cat ear pair also by Forever 21!): I'd wear it with: a girly babydoll dress and Doc Martens.

     11. Classic Oversized Faux Leather Clutch (in blue): I'd wear it with: an all white ensemble of a skater dress and ankle booties.

     12. Sleek Combat Boots (in white): I'd wear them with: the next item on my list!

     13. Checkerboard Drop Waist Dress: I'd wear it with: the previous item on my list!

You're Swingin Me Up, You're Swingin Me Down

Okay, I will admit... I sort of have a thing for ugly sweaters.
This one I am wearing was my mother's Liz Clayborne from the 90's. I mean for God's sake, it came with SHOULDER PADS! I should have disposed of it immedietly and washed my hands after even touching such a unholy garment, but you know what I did instead? Took out the shoulder pads (and promptly threw them in the garbage) and PUT IT ON. Crazy, right?!

But it's so cute! Sorry, not sorry- I just love this sweater. It's cream and navy printed and has drop shoulders. With dark blue skinnies and combat boots, I looked like such a hipster on a day out with friends. I even had a Nikon slung around my shoulders, and the tips of my bob are ombre. How much more hipster can I get??

     Sweater: Liz Claborne (90's)
     Jeans: New York and Co.
     Boots: Bass

What is the title a reference to? Hint: It's a popular tune by the now unpopular Nicola Roberts.

I Need to be Loved just like Everybody Else Does

I adore layering. Scarves and jackets, socks over boots, tees over tanks. It's just an easy way to look stylish while still keeping warm!

Here I am wearing a patterned skater skirt, with a leather jacket and infinity scarf. Combat boots add a more autumn feel to the look.

     Top: Gap
     Skirt: Forever 21
     Scarf: Charlotte Russe
     Jacket: Forever 21
     Boots: Bass

Guess the song from the title in the comments!

What Do I Stand For?

Lazy days are my favourite things, probably ever to exist. I had to drag myself out of bed at 8am to attend church, and since the one I'm a member of is very relaxed on its dress code, this is what I wore.

The fitted tee and jeans are offset by a giant, baggy sweatshirt I stole from my dad. The sneaker wedges were the substitute for the white Converse I wanted to wear, but couldn't find.

     Tee: Gap

     Sweatshirt: Unknown
     Jeans: New York and Co.
     Shoes: Just Fab

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Will not happen again!

You're Gonna Hear Me Roar

Skater skirts are the perfect pieces for flirty, fun looks. I just adore them with plain tees and killer shoes for a fierce spin on it. But here, I decided to keep it youthful and adorbs.

A black and white, tye dye tank tucked into a royal blue skater skirt with woven black sandals makes perfect for a nice picnic with family and friends. That's why I wore this to one this past Sunday!

     Top: Kohl's (Rock & Republic)

     Skirt: Forever 21
     Shoes: Target
Bracelets: Pandora and Alex & Ani

Guess the song from the title!

August Favorites

Hey guys! Today I'll be showing you my top five favorite products/items for the month of August. Hoping to do this every month! They will feature an assortment between fashion, beauty, and lifestyle-type products. This month happened to be more health/beauty though.

1. St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Scrub. UNFORTUNATELY, this has been discontinued. I was beyond bummed to hear this at Harmon's yesterday. I did, though, purchase a large tub of the same scrub but instead of green tea, it is apricot. I am liking it so far, maybe it will be mentioned in my next Favorites?

2. sexyhair Straight Sexy Hair Darn Straight lotion. I use this only when my hair is wet, then blow dry it. Usually, it turns out looking like I used a straightening iron on it when I didn't. Loving this!

3. Neutragina Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Gel. Great for getting rid of acne, with the right cleanser(s). Do you guys want a skin care routine post? I have been pondering this idea. Maybe!

4. FIERCE bracelet. I purchased this from Kohl's with my BTS stuff and forget to mention it in the haul. I love this, and I think it has a magic touch- I didn't wear it my first day of high school and I had a terrible day full of misfortunes. But when I wore it the second, I had a great day! Hmmm...

5. Forever 21 Yoga Pants. OMG. These are so comfy, it's not even funny. I love wearing this on lazy days around the house with a sweater and slippers. Love!

Coming up: some reviews, OOTD's, and maybe a skincare routine! Comment how you are liking my way of running a blog.

     Stay Weird,

     Jane

Back To School: Haul

I usually challenge myself to spend around $100 on school clothes each year- no more, no less. Since last back to school season, I have acquired more skills in shopping for bargains and making the most out of each piece in my closet- and my self control lacked as I scoured the racks of several different stores. Okay, so I ended up spending practically triple what I promised I'd spend- what's the big deal? What can I say... shopping is my cardio!

Over the past few weeks, I have purchased pieces from Forever 21 and Kohl's for this September. Interested in seeing the merchandise? Keep reading.

DISCLAIMER: I am not endorsing any brand name or store due to sponsorship. I bought everything with my own money and am talking about them for one sole purpose: to share my love of shopping with all my viewers.

Forever 21 (online):

Ribbed Beanie, $5.80: I've needed a black one for the longest time, so I finally ordered a beanie from Forever 21's Men's Department- http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=21MEN&Category=m_accessories&ProductID=2000128423&VariantID=

Forever Cool Faux Leather Jacket, $15: NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Being in the market for an inexpensive vegan leather jacket, I was psyched to see this one on sale. Unfortunately, it is no longer available. Similar styles can be found for under $25 on the website, such as- http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=outerwear_faux-leather-jackets&ProductID=2058987124&VariantID=

Kitty Love Tank, $13.80: A quirky design with a hint of metallic sparkle, plus a rough-edge cut makes me love this top more and more- http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=top&ProductID=2000074293&VariantID=

Knit Skater Skirt, $10.80: I have been searching for the perfect skater skirt at a low price endlessly this summer, and finally found the perfect match in royal blue- http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=bottom&ProductID=2077611530&VariantID=

Vertical Stripe Leggings, $5: NO LONGER AVAILABLE. A graphic stripe design on stretchy, comfortable pants makes this pair my go-to pants. A similar style for $10- http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=bottom_leggings&ProductID=2062663705&VariantID=

Floral Skater Skirt, $17.80: Although a little more pricey than some of the other items, I love this skirt with all my heart- http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=bottom&ProductID=2040496446&VariantID=

Kohl's:
(I apologize but I have less information, as the titles on the receipt are vague and I bought these in store instead of online)

Gray Button Down: Adorable and basic, this top is perfect for basically any outfit.

Black and White Tye-Dye Tank: I love this soft-knit top because it is pretty funky yet can go with a lot.

Black Skinnies: These jeans are a perfect base for any BTS outfit.

Floral and Skull Leggings: This pair of leggings are just the right balance between punk and girly.

Neon Pink Sweatshirt: Comfy and adorable, I can wear this zip-up with practically anything.

Dark Orange Envelope Bag: I am absolutely in love with this bag, because besides the fact that it doubles as a clutch, it is perfect for fall.

Forever 21 (in store):

Neon Green Button Down, $13.80: I thought this was on sale for $5, there being a massssssiiiiveee sale in store at the time, but I didn't see that it wasn't until I was almost home. It's a cute staple to layer once it gets chillier!

Grey, Turquoise, and Orange leggings, $3.80 each: Usually $2 more than the price on sale, I took advantage of this deal by purchasing two bold coloured ones and one basic. I'm a legging hoarder, I'll admit- I don't have a problem!

Grey Cami, $1.80: I've needed one for a while, including to go under my recently-purchased grey button down.

Black Sweater, %15.80: I love this lightweight knit because with extra layers, it will last far into the colder weather in the next few months.

Camo Muscle Tee, $5: This top is edgy enough already, but add jewel details at the collar and it instantly becomes a statement piece. I can't wait to rock the camo trend with it, as I discarded my camo jeans just before they came back in style.

Black High-Low Top, $5: Putting a twist on the classic high-low trend with a more square cut (replacing the usual round one), this part-sheer-part-opaque top caught my eye- as well as the price tag!

Nude and Black Studded Flats, $8: With a point toe and edgy details, this shoes were irresistible- the cost was just a bonus!

Can't wait for you all to see the lookbook. It's going to be amazing!

     Jane

Back to School: Playlist

I feel that everyone needs a killer playlist to go to school with. I always have one prepared on my iPod for the busride in the morning. Here I will share 10 of my favourite tunes to add to your soundtrack.

     1. Changing of the Seasons- Two Door Cinema Club. My favourite band has just released a new single off their soon-to-come album. Check it out!

     2. Lucky Day- Nicola Roberts. When I first discovered this artist, I fell in love with her. This song is quite catchy, I will say.

     3. Sticks and Stones- The Pierces. The same band that sings the theme song for Pretty Little Liars, (Any PLL fans out there? Comment if you are!) this group is famous for their eerie but fascinating music.

     4. Shake it Out- Florence and the Machine. This song sort of inspires me to take control of my life and make the best of it- goes pretty well with the concept of a new school year, huh?

     5. Vanessa- Grimes. One of my favourite singers, she releases pop-y yet meaningful music that I just adore. Look it up!

     6. Fire in your new shoes- Kaskade. All about fashion, style, and confidence, this song is meant to boost yours!

     7. Anything Could Happen- Ellie Goulding. The best artist to listen to when getting pumped up for your first day, make sure to check out Ellie.

     8. Walcott- Vampire Weekend. A song all about escaping your boring old town for one night, I can relate to this song on a thousand different levels. One of the best indie bands out there, too!

     9. Scab and Plaster- Marina and the Diamonds. Being one of her unreleased songs, this one is only leaked onto Youtube. But Marina is probably my favourite solo female artist, so please take time to listen to this song!

     10. Bad Reputation- Joan Jett. Basically my theme song, this oldie is a goodie. If you have an attitude and bad rep, Joan Jett is probably the best fit for you when it comes to songs on this list.

Okay, I lied about there being ten- here is one more:

     11. Factory Girl- The Pretty Reckless. Taylor Momsen is just perfect, as well as her band. You will recognize her raspy voice from Gossip Girl- Little J is all grown up!

These are just some of my favourite songs right now. Take the time to look em up, kitties!
